So now I'm 68 years old.  Looking back over those 50 years, I can assure you:  that one brief encounter as a flat-topped nerd in 1958 has exercised a crucial influence over the subsequent course of my life. For about the first twenty years it made me a little crazy.  I've been an outlaw and a libertine.   I've also been a well-credentialed model citizen - more lately even a respected Sunday School teacher.   From a drugged-out hippie biker-scum doing yoga and raising reverb hell on a Fender solid-body guitar...to a bespectacled Grandpa entering into child-like "let's pretends" with little ones again.  I've been there - and back.

 But as to the crucial influence thing:  With Solomon, I have sought "with all my getting" to GET UNDERSTANDING.  Career opportunities literally by the dozen have fallen by the wayside.  I've drawn paychecks as a college teacher, house-painter, film-maker, uranium mine laborer, motorcycle mechanic, public information officer, carpenter, cabinet-maker, lab technician... But these were just the "accidents," the submerged rocks that somehow always appeared beneath my feet as I leapt ahead in mad-dash pursuit of that precious prize:

understanding.

The central goal of this site is to pass the kernel of that hard-won wisdom on to you. Because it's still true, in ways most of us can scarcely guess:  

"You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."
